Web contest to open for Flo Rida at Think Pink

The nonprofit breast cancer research charity Think Pink Rocks is holding online auditions to add an act to its annual fundraising concert, this year featuring performances by chart-topping rapper Flo Rida (right), the Grammy-nominated Melanie Fiona, Caribbean crooner Iyaz and local “American Idol” fave Brett Loewenstern.

The winning act will open the show and walk the red carpet before the Nov. 5 concert at Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton.

To enter the nationwide talent search, sponsored by SRC Records, ActorCast and radio station Y100, upload a video Deadline is Oct. 21. The submissions with the top 25 “Likes” will have their clips posted on the charity’s home page,

To submit a video, contestants must make a $25 donation to Think Pink Rocks. Proceeds benefit Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, the Boca Raton Community Hospital Women’s Center for Breast Care, and other breast cancer research charities.

The winner will be selected by a panel including Steve Rifkind, chairman of SRC Records/Universal, Grammy Award-winning producer Jim Jonsin and longtime Think Pink Rocks supporters Akon and Flo Rida. Travel and accommodations will be provided within the domestic U.S. for up to five band members.

“This is a great chance for aspiring artists from throughout the U.S to try for their chance to open for some of the biggest names in music,” Rifkind said in a press statement. “The winner not only has the opportunity to showcase their music, they will be supporting breast cancer research, a cause that is important to me and all of the artists involved.”
